Over the past decade we have witnessed a definite evolution in the scope of research studies involving new brain monitoring technologies such as BIS. As the utilization of BIS monitoring has become more widespread, research is no longer limited to a small group of academic investigators. It is clear that brain monitoring of anesthetic and sedative response is now an integral component of many research projects. Aspect welcomes and encourages research of its Bispectral Index (BIS) technology.
To date, BIS technology has been used to assess more than 15.2 million patients and has been the subject of approximately 2,300 published articles and abstracts.
